Today's Reading

1. What is God Like?

Psalm 72

v. 1: God is just

v. 3: God's justice brings prosperity to people

v. 4: God's justice defends the afflicted, the children of the needy,

v. 4: God's justice crushes the oppressor

v. 5: God's government endures throughout all generations

v. 8: God is king to all the kings of the earth

v. 12: God is a model for just government; he delivers the needy when they cry out and rescues the weak from oppression and violence. The poor are sacred to Him.

Psalm 119:73-96

v. 73: God opens our perception so we can learn His ways.

v. 75: His laws are just and He disciplines when necessary so we can live

v. 76: His love is unfailing; discipline does not mean He has stopped loving

v. 77: He is compassionate

v. 89: His word, His faithfulness, and His laws are eternal

v. 91: All things serve Him
